What is the Punjab Laws Site (PLS)?

The PLS is an online official version of the primary legislation in force in the Punjab (Pakistan).

  

Who manages PLS?

PLS is managed by the Government of the Punjab, Law and Parliamentary Affairs  Department. For further details see `Overview’.

  

How can I use PLS?

You may look for the laws in alphabetical order, year-wise or department-wise. Moreover, free text search facility is also available.


What legislation is held on PLS?

PLS shall carry most (but not all) types of legislation, both primary and secondary. Legislation is held in ‘revised’ form. This means that amendments made by subsequent legislations are incorporated into the main text.

 

Will I find new legislation on PLS?

Yes. Newly enacted/enforced legislation is uploaded on PLS as soon as it is reasonably practicable after publication in the official Gazette.


How up-to-date is the legislation on PLS?

All legislation held on PLS is currently up to date  and shall be kept updated on regular basis.


Where are the functions of different departments of the Government mentioned?

The functions of various departments of Government of the Punjab and distribution of business among these departments are provided in the Punjab Government Rules of Business 1974.
